UX Architect State Farm Insurance October 2014 – Present Atlanta, GA

As a UX Architect, I work with a multi-disciplinary team of designers, researchers, developers, and product owners to identify and solve customer problems while balancing business goals and objectives.

My personal responsibilities include:

  • Defining the problem we’re solving
  • Creating a vision to solve that problem
  • Helping to “right-size” the vision into appropriately sized pieces/stories
  • Executing a design to match the defined work package

Education + Training Analyst – UX/Digital State Farm Insurance March 2014 – October 2014 Atlanta, GA

In the Spring of 2014, the User Experience Center of Excellence was established as a part of Digital. As an Education + Training Analyst, I was responsible for defining and creating role-specific training for the UX practice.

In this role, my main achievements include:

  • Identifying training needs based on the new UX roles
  • Working to define a curriculum based on training needs
  • Testing the training plans and tools for various roles, for example an Axure RP tutorial
  • Writing job aids and education material to assist UX practitioners in their day-to-day responsibilities
Analyst – Digital Content State Farm Insurance October 2012 – March 2014 Bloomington, IL

The Digital Content Foundations team was responsible for two main objectives: a full redesign of statefarm.com® to a new design template system, and a migration of statefarm.com to a new content management system (SDL Tridion).

As an analyst on this team, I was personally responsible to lead the statefarm.com en Español redesign, migration, and translation, as well as define various workflows and processes utilized by the team. Specific responsibilities included:

  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to define the statefarm.com en Español customer experience
  • Reviewing pages for design and content accuracy
  • Managing work load of team completing reviews
  • Building unique Spanish-only pages in the content management system
  • Correcting design/content defects

Our team went live with a new design and content management system on time and with quality in December of 2013.

Client Sherpa Gaggle.Net, Inc. June 2012 – October 2012 Bloomington, IL

Gaggle provides safe online learning products and solutions for K-12 educators and students.

As a Client Sherpa, I helped Gaggle users tackle their day-to-day questions and challenges over the phone, online chat, and email. With quick responses and a friendly attitude, I helped reinforce customers' connection to the Gaggle brand and better their overall experience.

When I wasn’t assisting customers, I diligently made updates to our Customer Relationship Management system, worked behind-the-scenes in the Gaggle suite of tools, and connected with our IT and customer relationship teams to keep them up-to-date on hot topics from our users.

As an intern in the Enterprise Internet Solutions department, I worked with both the communications team and statefarm.com® en Español website.
